Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel | Accommodation in Hong Kong | Sea View Floor-to-Ceiling Windows Overlooking Hong Kong Airport, Quiet Corner Outside the Bustling Area

Due to pandemic-related policies, I stayed at the Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel for three days. The hotel is located in Lantau Island, Hong Kong and is a 5-star hotel that opened at the end of 2020. It has 218 rooms and suites, and sea view rooms offer views of the Hong Kong International Airport. The city view rooms presumably provide views of Tung Chung, but I stayed in a sea view room and am not sure about the city view.

Staying here is suitable for planning a three-day trip to Hong Kong Disneyland, Tai O Fishing Village, and the Tian Tan Buddha. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the Tung Chung MTR station, where you can take a cable car.

I recommend this hotel to travelers who want to stay near the airport and have a non-city itinerary.

The lobby is clean, simple, bright, and has a 24-hour reception desk and foreign currency exchange service.

When I went to Hong Kong, I needed to comply with the Hong Kong government’s pandemic prevention measures, and the front desk staff proactively printed the documents I needed.

Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel: Services and Facilities

According to the official website, the hotel has a rooftop barbecue restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a bar, a garden, and a children’s club. It provides scheduled shuttle service between the hotel and the Tung Chung MTR station.

I didn’t use any of these facilities, so I can’t provide any feedback. However, I did see a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony being held at the hotel’s banquet venue downstairs!

Oh, because it’s two Sheraton hotels combined, targeting different types of guests, the other one is the “Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Four Points Hotel” which is more expensive, and the buildings are connected to each other.

I remember that I followed the route I remembered and wanted to go out for a walk. However, when I got off the elevator, I got lost and had to ask the staff passing by where the main entrance was. Then, I walked out of the entrance of the other hotel’s lobby, which didn’t have a doorman, and the doorman only spoke English.

The entire room has natural and soft colors, with white and wood as the base, and black line decorations. When you enter the room, your attention will be immediately drawn to the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The room space is small. Although compared with some budget hotels in the city, it is still considered spacious enough to place a round table and two chairs.

When two suitcases are opened on the ground, there is not much space to move around, so you have to jump over from above.

The room is equipped with a TV, a wardrobe and hangers, a safe, tea bags and a kettle, and a small round table and sofa chair.

There are electrical outlets on both sides of the bedside table for convenient charging of mobile phones. The mattress is soft, but I prefer a mattress with more support, so this expensive mattress is not suitable for me.

Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel: Wet and Dry Separation Bathroom

The bathroom space is small, and it has a wet and dry separation design. The washbasin is very bright, but it is a pity that there is no expandable magnifying mirror installed on the wall.

Other basic equipment is available, such as large and small towels, disposable toothbrush sets, razors, shower caps, slippers, etc.

Would I Recommend the “Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel”?

It is basically an average hotel. Its location near Hong Kong Airport is suitable for business travelers with flight demands, but its regular rooms do not provide desks for business travelers.

It might not be a good choice for free independent travelers who want to play in the city. However, the hotel’s location has advantages for those who want to visit Hong Kong Disneyland, the Tian Tan Buddha, and Tai O Fishing Village.

These destinations are easy to reach by taking the MTR from Tung Chung Station.
