I stayed at “Hotel Cozi Wetland” for more than ten days. As the name suggests, it is located in Yuen Long and is a chain hotel. It opened in 2017 and offers 336 modern and bright rooms with a sofa and desk, providing guests with a comfortable environment to enjoy their stay. I would recommend it to budget-conscious travelers who want spacious accommodation. However, I do not recommend it for short-term stays as commuting can be inconvenient.
There is the “Hong Kong Wetland Park” nearby, which can be reached on foot in just 5 minutes. Although the hotel is far from the “Tin Shui Wai MTR station” and requires taking the tram to get there, there is a tram station called “Tin Shui” at the hotel’s doorstep.
Next to the hotel is a local mall called “Tin Yat Plaza,” which has various shops and restaurants, including a McDonald’s for affordable fast food.
There are fruit stores on the street, but I suggest not buying fruit from Hong Kong fruit stands. I have given them many chances, but I must say that the fruit is not very delicious. If you want to eat fruit, you should definitely buy expensive imported fruit from the supermarket. I really miss the fruits in Taiwan, which are delicious and easy to find.
The hotel has a consistent overall style, and the logo can be seen everywhere on promotional materials. I really like its logo design, which looks like a vibrant, naturally abundant tree.
The room key is a magnetic card, and it is necessary to swipe the card to enter and exit the elevator. It is only possible to press one’s own floor, making it very safe.
Hotel Cozi Wetland : Services and Facilities
The hotel provides an hourly shuttle bus to and from “Tin Shui Wai MTR station” in the morning. The actual number of passengers is quite small, and the shuttle service is only available in the morning, so I rarely use it.
There is a restaurant in the hotel that provides takeout service by phone, but I have not tried it.
Laundry service is available (HKD 9 / kg), and there is a fixed laundry date. The minimum fee is HKD 50, and the returned clothes are dry and fragrant.
Hotel Cozi Wetland : Spacious Wooden Modern Rooms
The overall design of the room belongs to the early era of hotels, with a clean and tidy wooden feel.
It has a desk and a small sofa area. It is definitely the largest room I have stayed in in Hong Kong, but unfortunately there is no coffee table.
It provides a wardrobe, hangers, a safe, tea bags, and a hot water bottle. There are sockets on both sides of the bed for charging mobile phones. There is even a USB socket on one side of the bedside table, so foreign travelers can charge their phones without adapters.
There are some rooms where the double bed is actually two single beds put together, and the edge of the mattress in the middle is very hard and uncomfortable to lie on. Because I stayed for more than seven days, I was allowed to change rooms once due to the pandemic. The second room had a normal double bed.
The sound insulation is not too good, and for several days, I heard someone singing old Cantonese songs, but I did not know where it was coming from.
Hotel Cozi Wetland : Dry and Wet Separation Bathroom
The bathroom space is slightly small, with dry and wet separation. It comes with large and small towels, disposable toothbrush sets, razors, shower caps, slippers, etc.
The problem is that the towel on the floor after showering is easy to get damp. Finally, I had to ask the housekeeping for another dry floor towel.
Due to the pandemic, cleaning services were not provided during my stay, only the trash was cleared. I had to use toilet paper to clean the hair on the floor every day.
Would I recommend “Hotel Cozi Wetland”?
It is suitable for travelers who need to stay for a short period of time and want to save money while enjoying a comfortable stay. The laundry service is super convenient, but it is only cost-effective if you have enough clothes to wash.
I would not recommend this hotel for short-term stays, as commuting can be inconvenient. It takes time to transfer to the MTR station by tram, and the shuttle bus service is only available in the morning.
It is suitable for travelers who want to stay comfortably for a long time and do not want to spend too much money.
